Stillness is the answer – sharing stillness in Cambridge

Today I drove to Cambridge to share the wonders of Mind Calm at Prime Time Fitness gym. I left plenty of extra time and the roads were nice and clear so I was able to stop for a while on the way and still myself with a Mind Calm sitting.

Space ready for attendees to arrivePrime Time Fitness is a lovely, light, airy space, really inviting and friendly. It was great to have plenty of time to make sure everything was in place before people arrived.

For me, there is always a sense of ‘not quite enough’ when I give an introductory talk on Mind Calm. There is only a little time, so I am limited in how much I can go into the theory, and we can look briefly at a couple of exercises but we stop way short of learning the actual meditation method. I have to tell myself, though, that it is supposed to be like this – an introduction, a taster to help people decide whether they want to learn more.

I am sure that my enthusiasm for this wonderful method shines through. I just can’t say enough about how simple, easy, fun and life-changing it is. And today, as always, I was honoured by the attention and openness of the 23 attendees who gave up their Saturday afternoons to come and listen to me. I feel sure that I will be meeting several of them again very soon.

So I have had fun. The journey was easy and pleasant, the setting was lovely, and I just enjoy sharing Mind Calm so much that it’s always a pleasure. And to think that this is work!

Sandy Newbigging, the creator of Mind Calm, says that ‘a successful life is one that is loved by the person living it.’ If this is the case, and I am sure that it is, today was a real success because I loved it!
